tax laws change every year and if it was me i would wait till the new
version comes out rather then getting the older versions

This IS the current one. TurboTax 2010 won't come out until next year around
November. Check the website. TurboTax updates it's database every time you
run it.

people that just unplugs them if I need to use my laptop and then when
finish I just plug it back in again....

well like anything in this world if you use something it'll wear out faster
then not using it but you need to unhook the proper way or you'll damage the
data that way too. just turning the power off to them would be the best

Hi Everyone,  I was wondering how many of us know that when you have a computer hard drive ( same drives used in external devices) fail during warranty that you get a refurbished drive to replace it. All drive manufacturers will replace your broken hardware with refurbished items in other words it was a bad drive returned to them for any reason and repaired and shipped out to you.
One other note is if your using an external drive you need to turn it off while not using it if possible. These drives are in an enclosed space with little or no air flow or in other words it can overheat if left on constantly.

I always tell people that with Externals that what they should do when they fail to work is....Go to Starbucks buy a Double mocha Latte, and danish place it next to the drive and let the essence of the latte and the danish infuse the drive, therefore appeasing the Drive Gods by making this offering.
 
(If this does not work the by all mean taking the drive outside, place it gently on the ground and then start your car and run that *&%^#^& piece of %&&)$#@ over about 20 %##&^%#@ times and have a nice day)
 
Reheat the latte and danish and eat them...btw

well next time you plug it in ... look in the bottom right corner for this
icon ... , if you click that icon it'll give you a list of things
connected to your computer and then you'll wanna select the item and then it'll
tell you its safe to remove it.

Nope haven't done anything... Now when I plug it in, it keeps asking I if I
want to format it so I just unplug it. Not sure what do and the weird thing
is, if I pull up my graphic program and go to browse it will show the stuff

did you run the disk defragment? some computers mark the good sectors bad if
you run disk defragment.

no it most likely wouldn't effect it leaving it hooked all the time. that's
not why i asked. i asked because you don't wanna just unhook them without
the proper steps of doing so. that's why i asked. before i would restore i
think i'd try hooking the external to another source to see if works there.

what you do is go to the lower right side in the sys tray there is a way
you can shut it off that way

yep very true a lot of people dont know how to unhook stuff that is
connected usb they think that's all they have to do is unhook it and that's
wrong.

if you're able to pull it up you may wanna try saving it elsewhere and
then format it like its asking .. of course a format totally wipes it clean.

I am but it will be a tedious step.... I'm gonna try pluggin it up to my
other computer and maybe it will come up and I can burn to a disc.. But if

I have been having problems with mine, it will suddenly say drive currupt,
and then sometimes when my computer starts up (the rare occasion I do that)
it will pop up as dirty. I have another that has quit on me, it says there
isnt a D/o drive or something installed. But mine does have a power cord,
and it does connect with USB, and when I unplug the USB, the light goes out,
so I would assume that is when it is mostly shut down.
