If you've called and complained of neighbors stealing your internet, that
right there is doubt. And as I mentioned in an earlier email...unless you
pay for a static IP address your address isn't always the same. So there
is a slim chance they can prove anything, even if it was you. There is no
100% way for them to track it. I mean I am sure there is but it's time
consuming for them...I doubt it's worth that much investigating on their
part.

Apart from stuff that is public domain all the movies on here are not
susposed to be downloaded. You take a chance and if you get busted you
were the conquences.
So either go buy the movie you want or fork out the bucks and go see
it on the big screen or keep on downloading choich is yours but enough
whinging already!

Yes i would think that they have t prove it. The letter was to my highspeed
connection and they sent me the actual copy from Paramount og their
complaint. Someonme else mentioned that now that it has been brought to my
ISP's attention that they are monitoring what I download now. Should I
unplug my modem now and plug it back in since I called them the other day?
Thanks for everyones help with this. I saw some lady on TV who was caught
and fined $87,000 for illegal downloads. UGH!

If you've called and complained of neighbors stealing your internet, that
right there is doubt. And as I mentioned in an earlier email...unless you
pay for a static IP address your address isn't always the same. So there
is a slim chance they can prove anything, even if it was you. There is no
100% way for them to track it. I mean I am sure there is but it's time
consuming for them...I doubt it's worth that much investigating on their
part.

cannot stress enough that I have never, ever used a torrent site, so I do
not understand how this could have happened. And they did in fact say
ecactly what the other reply to me said. They will drop me after 3 and I
guess I will be getting 2 more for something I didnt DL for the other 2
movies that I have never heard of! GRR! One reply said that I can look at
the file and it wil say bit torrent in it. Where do I see that in the file
before DL it? I do not recall seeing that in the files that pass through
here that I have looked at so please tell me where and how to check it so I
know next time I go to DL one. I think I will stop DL'ing cams and wait and
only DL the DVD rips. That should be safe right? Please let me know if thats
the best thing for me to do now. Thanks!

well I can tell you about having your isp address rotating.  mine changes every 3 hours mainly because I use wifi and I have my laptop set up to expire the ip address every 3 hours it may be a pain to do it that way but It has protected me from allot of things.

When I did have a desk top I did get that warning  letter it is really nothing to be scared about they give you that to protect them selves. And I have found no problem if I get the movies I want from pando they can't scan your e-mail that is a invasion of privacy and can get in trouble for that. just remember if you use a torrent site to get the recent movies that are out  reset your modem and router to insure that you are not being watched.  new ISP Address is a must when you use  torrents.

It's a lot of work to track what is downloaded from a certain IP address.  Unless you pay extra out of pocket to have a static IP address, they are rotated and are not always the same.  By simply unplugging your cable modem, it resets the IP address.  So it would be very hard and time consuming for them to pinpoint what and when you downloaded anything.  I am sure your Internet Provider was just following protocol, saving their ass basically.

Breathe, you have nothing to worry about.

You are aware that  internet
companies can see your monthly upload and download amounts right? so once
someone informs them, they monitor it.

it's mot because of pando it's because of either uploading or downloading
from a torrent site. Apparently the production company for Tranformers put
a tracker on that movie so they know when it's downloaded. they are NOT going to
sue you or fine you it is probably just a request to stop it. I have gotten 2 of
those from my isp in the past 3 years saying if I get 3 of them the isp
will drop me. So just don't download from bit torrent or any torrent site and
just put a request to the group and if someone has the movie you want, they will
send it pando....... ..they don't track pando because pando is actually a storage
site for files from one person to another unlike a torrent site which is a mass
storage for a lot of people. And it's open to the public or whoever belongs
to that torrent site........ .

ok foirst it was from my internet provider. And it said that my internet
account may have been invvolved in copyrighted material. They sent a copy of the
DCMA notice that they received to me. Which showed me as have downloaded the
Transformers revenge of the Fallen movie from bit torrent. I do noyt know what
bit toreent is, live alone with my 9 year old daughter whose surfing is done in
front of me and is limited to things like disney plus I would have seen if she
was using someithing like that, which those things I guarantee she knows nothng
about. I am so mad I could spit nails. We all are on here for teh same reason
and this is not bit torrent. I did get it from here, but there were 2 more
letters that they said were coming to me for movies that I have never even heard
of! Could the one I got from here had ben uploaded from bit torreent and would
they have known that way? Now the letter also goes on to state that it could
have been the result of viruses etc, which a program that was shared with me on
here just removed 18 worms and trijans and such from my tower PC which is not
what I use to do my Pando, but it is an open internet connection. I called my
internet provider and I told them that I didnt know what bit torrent is, didnt
have it, dont want it, and that not long ago my name was not in the list of
wireless connections and I had to call in to get connected and that I had my
neighbor steal my cable and internet wire which ran from my closet in my living
room through their bedroom closet and that they stole my servives 3 times in
July alone and they are supposed to be prosecuted from cable theft and maybe
that is how it happened and they didnt seem to even hear me ot care. Is it
because I am a Pando member and if I got that one from here, how did they think
it was a bit torrent file?? And what about the other 2 that they have been
notified about that I didnt even get from here?? Also has anyone else got any
letters like these for the Transformers revenge movie?? OR any others for that
matter?? And do you think I have anything to worry about?? They said there have
been 3 reports sent into them originating from my ISP. One more thing... can
they do anything about people uploading the shared DVD rips and us getting those
from here?? Should I ONLY wait and get those?? OR does that include them tacking
them too or are they less likely to know about that?? ANY info would be helpful
in relation to my questions above as I am nervous now and it could have been the
viruses, my theiving/stealing neighbors and they didnt seem to care! PLEASE
advise with any help to my my above questions. Thanks so
much!

TY for sending what each means. now the question... color me stupid but WHERE do you look to find out before you download and in your opinion what is the most dangerous to DL? Cams perhaps? Please teach me where to look to find out when I look at the choices where to find out what type it is befre I download. Thanks for your help.
