Linda you might want to ask your doctor about taking Gabapentin (generic for
Neurontin). I was having problems with my feet and he put me on that and it
has helped. It also helped my restless leg syndrome dramatically. I'm not
sure what he will say, but you can at least ask him about it. The problem
with me is I have diabetes, actually just was diagnosed a couple months ago,
and my feet started feeling strange. I had these strange sensations in my
toes mainly. Anyway my doctor said it is called Peripheral Neuropathy. So
check with your doctor and see if you can take that. Although I have been
taking it for a couple months now, and he upped my dosage a couple times,
and this last time the top of my feet would swell, but after about 2 or 3
weeks, they quit swelling.

I have told my Dr about this. I have had tests. I do not have neurophy. I
cannot take anything like Lyrica for my feet, cuz it makes me retain fluid
(even though I take lasix everyday) and puts me into CHF (congestive heart
failure). So my feet hurt all the time. The Dr's just want me to take pain
meds for it. God Bless.

Have you asked your doctor about any of this? I mean about the nerve

diagnosed with diabetes and my feet drive me crazy. Even my toes drive me
nuts. It's all from my diabetes my doctor says. He has me on a medicine to
help with my feet and it's helped some. He has increased the medicine 2
times already. Talk to you doctor if you have questions, because he doesn't
know the questions you have unless you talk to him. Make his answer them
all for you.

Thanks Angel ! I am on Cymbalta. I have headaches (often) and I have had
a heart attack back about 25 years ago. Multipe stents placed. My nevers
endings are painful. I havefibromaligia, psoriac arthritis, diabetis,
gastroparasis, hypo thyroid, my feet hurt and butn all the time. I am on O2
24/7. I can't walk for 5 minutes without panting. This is just the tip of
the iceburg. I know all this is not due to Cymbalta, but I wonder about
some of it. God Bless.

I go back to the neurologist next Tuesday and this time I will make them
listen. They are so focused on my neck that they are forgetting everything
else. So keeping my fingers crossed that he will listen to me.
Anyway hugs to all and you all have a wonderful day!

A couple of years back I approached my doctor about fibro and I got the
impression she didn't believe in it. The only medication I take on a daily
basis is Tramadol with 4 Ibuprofen 4 times a day for the pain and Carbo Dupa
Lopa ?spelling for the restless leg. I also have pain patches that I only
use when I can't take the pain any longer as they are so expensive. However
she did tell me that until I get the surgery she would be willing to do
anything to make me comfortable. Except the valium and steriods. Sooo I'm
back to square one.

I appreciate that. It was a hard pill to swallow. I take Avonex injection's
once a week. So far the doctors are keeping it in check. It started with
slight numbness on the face. They gave me steriods and neurontin. Then they
did MRI of the brain, Spinal Tap, and Evoked Potential eye test. all three
tests came back positive. Now I can look back and see some signs I just blew
off due to the Fibromyagia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrone. Mine was caught
early thank god. Thanks, Diane

I honestly believe what most dr's fail to understand is that living in
constant pain can cause someone to want to die! I know having fibromyalgia,
osteo arthritis in both knees and spinal stenosis, to the point that I can't
stand for 5 minutes nor walk 1/2 a block without pain so bad that I am in
tears and break out in a sweat. So I use a wheel chair.
15 years ago I went to see a specialist at Hospital of Special Surgeries in
Manhattan and told him if he didn't do something my next appointment would
be with Dr. Kavorkian... .......they did nothing for me, I was too young for
a knee replacement. ......... ......... .I would give anything to have 15
minutes pain free! only time that happened what after my hysterectomy they
gave me a combo of morphine, fetenol and valium injection! man I didn't feel
anything lol

they just don't get it

I know what you mean. LOL. I take one valium everytime I went in for the
spinal injection. God I love that pill. Doctor wont precribe it cause it is
addicting, but get this. She gave me fentenol patches (opium). The
neurologist about flipped. LOL

become addicted. Right now that's the least of my freaking worries. I just
called my doctor and broke down sobbing to the receptionist. You know it's

I can't thank you enough for sending this in. I have been in pain for years
and it just keeps getting worse. Right now all I know for sure is that I
have degenerative disk disease, arthritis in my spine, herniated and bulging
disks, and that's it so far. I feel like my hands don't work anymore, no
one can touch me because my nerves are so raw, and I'm either numb or
tingling at all times. My doctor put me on a new medication on Tuesday and
by Wednesday I was suicidal. I was rushed to the ER where they flushed the
drug out of my system. Not a good time. So now I'm back to square one. My
hands are buzzing right now with no relief in sight. I am being tested for
MS too along with everything else.

FIBROMYALGIA. avi

When the mysterious pain and debilitating fatigue plaguing a loved one is
diagnosed as "fibromyalgia, " the first reaction is usually relief at
finally having a name for the pain followed by confusion as everyone
scrambles to get information. What does a diagnosis of fibromyalgia mean? Is
there hope that things will get better?

Filmmakers Daneen Akers and Stephen Eyer asked these questions when Daneen's
mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia several years ago. After watching
their family search for answers, they decided to make a film about their own
journey for understanding and hope. They interviewed doctors, experts, and
most importantly, Daneen's mom and other fibromyalgia patients from diverse
backgrounds who share their own stories of learning to survive and even
thrive with this illness.

The result of over two years of interviews and research, Living With
Fibromyalgia is the film they wish their family could have watched together
when they first heard the word "fibromyalgia. "

It is really hard to say what caused my peripheral neuropathy because I have
been newly diagnosed with the diabetes, but I also had shingles twice, so I
was given the vaccine for that so hopefully I won't get them again. I also
have Gout, and that can also cause nerve damage. Anyway, below is a link
about the peripheral neuropathy. You say you don't have neuropathy, did
they say what it was then? Hope it helps....

cannot take anything like Lyrica for my feet, cuz it makes me retain fluid
(even though I take lasix everyday) and puts me into CHF (congestive heart
failure). So my feet hurt all the time. The Dr's just want me to take pain
meds for it. God Bless.

help with my feet and it's helped some. He has increased the medicine 2
times already. Talk to you doctor if you have questions, because he doesn't

Thanks Angel ! I am on Cymbalta. I have headaches (often) and I have had
a heart attack back about 25 years ago. Multipe stents placed. My nevers
endings are painful. I havefibromaligia, psoriac arthritis, diabetis,
gastroparasis, hypo thyroid, my feet hurt and butn all the time. I am on O2
24/7. I can't walk for 5 minutes without panting. This is just the tip of
the iceburg. I know all this is not due to Cymbalta, but I wonder about
some of it. God Bless.

Lopa ?spelling for the restless leg. I also have pain patches that I only
use when I can't take the pain any longer as they are so expensive. However

Neuropathy causes can be as simple as being mal nourished. People think of
malnutrition and think of the little skeletal African children but that is
not true. When I was fat I started to develop neuropathy and learned that
because my diet was so bad, and so lacking in many vitamins, minerals and
basic enzymes we all need for our bodies to function, I was suffering from
malnutrition. I started taking my vitamins and minerals and eating better,
and the neuropathy went away. I'm not saying you are the same, but check
with your doctor because you never know, it may be something very easy to
correct. MichelleY

God Bless.

Thanks Angel ! I am on Cymbalta. I have headaches (often) and I have had
a heart attack back about 25 years ago. Multipe stents placed. My nevers
endings are painful. I havefibromaligia, psoriac arthritis, diabetis,
gastroparasis, hypo thyroid, my feet hurt and butn all the time. I am on O2
24/7. I can't walk for 5 minutes without panting. This is just the tip of

have degenerative disk disease, arthritis in my spine, herniated and bulging
disks, and that's it so far.

The result of over two years of interviews and research, Living With
Fibromyalgia is the film they wish their family could have watched together
when they fir st heard the word "fibromyalgia. "

and when she came back to work, 6 weeks later, she told us this is what had
been wrong with her, she weighed at least 250 now her weight is more around
150 lbs but I was shocked a woman as large as her could be malnourished...

I am glad your better!

disks, and that's it so far.
I am being tested for
MS too along with everything else.

diagnosed as "fibromyalgia, " the first reaction is usually relief at
finally having a name for the pain followed by confusion as everyone
scrambles to get information.

The result of over two years of interviews and research, Living With
Fibromyalgia is the film they wish their family could have watched together
when they fir st heard the word "fibromyalgia. "

I have heard that before! I worked with a lady and she had to take time off
and when she came back to work, 6 weeks later, she told us this is what had
been wrong with her, she weighed at least 250 now her weight is more around
150 lbs but I was shocked a woman as large as her could be malnourished...

I am glad your better!

Hugs, Lorri

Neuropathy causes can be as simple as being mal nourished. People think of
malnutrition and think of the little skeletal African children but that is
not true. When I was fat I started to develop neuropathy and learned that
because my diet was so bad, and so lacking in many vitamins, minerals and
basic enzymes we all need for our bodies to function, I was suffering from
malnutrition. I started taking my vitamins and minerals and eating better,
and the neuropathy went away. I'm not saying you are the same, but check
with your doctor because you never know, it may be something very easy to
correct. MichelleY

God Bless.

help with my feet and it's helped some. He has increased the medicine 2

Thanks Angel ! I am on Cymbalta. I have headaches (often) and I have had
a heart attack back about 25 years ago. Multipe stents placed. My nevers
endings are painful. I havefibromaligia, psoriac arthritis, diabetis,
gastroparasis, hypo thyroid, my feet hurt and butn all the time. I am on O2
24/7. I can't walk for 5 minutes without panting. This is just the tip of
the iceburg. I know all this is not due to Cymbalta, but I wonder about
some of it. God Bless.

The

called my doctor and broke down sobbing to the receptionist. You know it's
