Nothing was working, boot disks wouldn't do anything either. All the
drivers were gone.
All that a boot disk did was boot it up and didn't resolve her problem of
the virus that had wormed it's way into everything.
No AV programs, malware programs, etc could fix it. Even the portable ones,
tried them all.
The only thing that worked was a total reformat and reinstall of Windows in
this case.
I have an MS tech kit that I got to finally boot her disk enough to do some
backups of important data. Still no drivers so no Internet connection
either.
I sent her a Windows 7 install disk which found and added all the drivers
and now she is using a reliable version of Windows.

listen to me go to bootdisk.com or bootdisk.net and get a recovery disk
for XP and get rid of Vista why do people like Vista is beyond me go
to sony.com and write to customer service and tell them what you did and
you need a recovery disk. Simple such lamers I swear
