When the mysterious pain and debilitating fatigue plaguing a loved one is diagnosed as "fibromyalgia, " the first reaction is usually relief at finally having a name for the pain followed by confusion as everyone scrambles to get information. What does a diagnosis of fibromyalgia mean? Is there hope that things will get better?

Filmmakers Daneen Akers and Stephen Eyer asked these questions when Daneen's mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia several years ago. After watching their family search for answers, they decided to make a film about their own journey for understanding and hope. They interviewed doctors, experts, and most importantly, Daneen's mom and other fibromyalgia patients from diverse backgrounds who share their own stories of learning to survive and even thrive with this illness.

The result of over two years of interviews and research, Living With Fibromyalgia is the film they wish their family could have watched together when they first heard the word "fibromyalgia. "

I can't thank you enough for sending this in. I have been in pain for years
and it just keeps getting worse. Right now all I know for sure is that I
have degenerative disk disease, arthritis in my spine, herniated and bulging
disks, and that's it so far. I feel like my hands don't work anymore, no
one can touch me because my nerves are so raw, and I'm either numb or
tingling at all times. My doctor put me on a new medication on Tuesday and
by Wednesday I was suicidal. I was rushed to the ER where they flushed the
drug out of my system. Not a good time. So now I'm back to square one. My
hands are buzzing right now with no relief in sight. I am being tested for
MS too along with everything else.

I would try anything at this point. They haven't tried that yet but my
doctor has mentioned it. Is it a controlled substance? He keeps saying he
wants to try and keep me off of them because I'm bipolar and can easily
become addicted. Right now that's the least of my freaking worries. I just
called my doctor and broke down sobbing to the receptionist. You know it's
bad when your 5 year old is trying to comfort you.

An Introduction to Lyrica Side Effects
As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Lyrica® (pregabalin); however, not everyone who takes the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate Lyrica quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Lyrica. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Lyrica side effects with you.)

Common Side Effects With Lyrica
Lyrica has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occur in a group of people taking the drug are documented and are then compared to side effects that occur in another group of people not taking the medicine. This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.

Lyrica (pregabalin) is used to control seizures and to treat fibromyalgia. It is also used to treat pain caused by nerve damage in people with diabetes (diabetic neuropathy) or herpes zoster (post-herpetic neuralgia).
Lyrica is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. It works by slowing down impulses in the brain that cause seizures. Lyrica also affects chemicals in the brain that send pain signals across the nervous system.

*Lauren, I also went thru a battery of test a few years back and it scared
the shit outta me. After being tested for ms they made me wait a year to
re~test me in order to compare the test results. Thank God I don't have ms.
When I was 23 my boyfriend at the time broke my neck. Now 20 years later, I
am suffering from bone spurs in my neck along with arthritis in my spine. At
times I have difficulty lifting up a pot of coffee. The pain is constant
now, as the spinal injections do not work anymore. 5 months ago I went in
and had trigger point injections in my shoulders to help relieve the pain. I
ended up with knots about the size of a lime throughout my shoulder area
from the shots and they tighten up on me and cramp up. Long story. But if
they are testing you for MS it's bacuse of the muscle loss. Do you have
restless legs? If so, thats why. Mine drive me nuts. My doctors are now
saying I have to have surgery, but I don't have insurance because we are
self employed. So they are having me apply for ssi disability. Was told
that if I don't have the surgery soon I will have so much nerve damage that
I will be disabled for life. After watching this video I am going to talk
with my doctor and see if they can test me for this. All the symptoms match
me perfectly. *
*Best Wishes To All*
*Tamara*

addicting, but get this. She gave me fentenol patches (opium). The

The neurologist wants to start me on epidural shots every month. I told her
I don't think I can go through with it. I had a botched epidural 11 years
ago when I was having my son. I haven't really had any problems until about
a year ago. Now about every few hours, I feel like someone is sticking a
syringe in my spine and then I get a burning sensation traveling through my
spine. It dissipates but it's bothersome. Don't you ever feel like you don
t know what it's like to be OUT of pain?

I know what you mean. LOL. I take one valium everytime I went in for the
spinal injection. God I love that pill. Doctor wont precribe it cause it is
addicting, but get this. She gave me fentenol patches (opium). The
neurologist about flipped. LOL

When the mysterious pain and debilitating fatigue plaguing a loved one is
diagnosed as "fibromyalgia, " the first reaction is usually relief at
finally having a name for the pain followed by confusion as everyone
scrambles to get information. What does a diagnosis of fibromyalgia mean? Is
there hope that things will get better?

Filmmakers Daneen Akers and Stephen Eyer asked these questions when Daneen's
mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia several years ago. After watching
their family search for answers, they decided to make a film about their own
journey for understanding and hope. They interviewed doctors, experts, and
most importantly, Daneen's mom and other fibromyalgia patients from diverse
backgrounds who share their own stories of learning to survive and even
thrive with this illness.

The result of over two years of interviews and research, Living With
Fibromyalgia is the film they wish their family could have watched together
when they first heard the word "fibromyalgia. "

I honestly believe what most dr's fail to understand is that living in constant pain can cause someone to want to die! I know having fibromyalgia, osteo arthritis in both knees and spinal stenosis, to the point that I can't stand for 5 minutes nor walk 1/2 a block without pain so bad that I am in tears and break out in a sweat. So I use a wheel chair.
15 years ago I went to see a specialist at Hospital of Special Surgeries in Manhattan and told him if he didn't do something my next appointment would be with Dr. Kavorkian..........they did nothing for me, I was too young for a knee replacement....................I would give anything to have 15 minutes pain free! only time that happened what after my hysterectomy they gave me a combo of morphine, fetenol and valium injection! man I didn't feel anything lol

they just don't get it

Become a quadriplegia where your feeling is from just above your nipples
and up ... then you wont have pain. Won't have quite a few other things
either but no pain.

I did want to die the other day. I had a migraine on top of the spine pain,
the sciatica, the neuropathy and everything else. I literally laid there
and asked my husband to let me die. I would take 2 hours at a stretch just
to be a normal mom to my kids. I'm 36 and can't even walk to the bus stop
without a cane.

Manhattan and told him if he didn't do something my next appointment would
be with Dr. Kavorkian..........they did nothing for me, I was too young for
a knee replacement....................I would give anything to have 15
minutes pain free! only time that happened what after my hysterectomy they
gave me a combo of morphine, fetenol and valium injection! man I didn't feel
anything lol

they just don't get it

I know what you mean. LOL. I take one valium everytime I went in for the
spinal injection. God I love that pill. Doctor wont precribe it cause it is
addicting, but get this. She gave me fentenol patches (opium). The
neurologist about flipped. LOL

called my doctor and broke down sobbing to the receptionist. You know it's
bad when your 5 year old is trying to comfort you.

No that does the same thing, the file downloads instantaneously and then the Pando console says the file already exists.( this all happens in a matter of seconds from pressing the link). When you open the file in "My Pando Packages" nearly all the files are***.***.downloading.
I've tried removing all traces of the file from my PC, clearing the Pando cache and rebooting etc,etc but the same thing happens
Could this be something to do with anti Virus as key generators are sometimes mistaken for virus' but then Norton isn't telling me its blocked anything???

Actually the 2 attached files are HJSplit files and need to be rejoined
with HJSPLIT. Once you do that you should have an avi file that should play
just fine for you. Here's a link for HJSplit.
