Your complaint is pando. Pando does not use your browser except to send the
download to pando downloader

Oh.. I think we're talking two different things Mike. I use JDownloader as
an independent downloader... not on my browser. IE: I open JDownloader to
downloade when not on the net. My browser uses a different one entirely.
That's what I like about JDownloader... I don't have to open my browser.
Same thing as using Pando downloader. But, again, I don't always have
Jdownloader open or running at all when I have Pando open.

I love JDownloader.. what a difference it makes! the freedownloader I tried
was like a snail.. I complained to RS because with a premium account what I
was getting was too slow. The told me it was the downloader so I tried
JDownloader.. wow! what a difference. I had no idea downloaders could make
such a difference.

I will when commspeed is back up full... well, if I decide to get over you
questioning my word. But, this is not the problem.. I said earlier what
I've come to. JDownloader.. used for host sites.. is using a totally
different port. Pando uses 443 and 563 P2P ports. My hardware firewall
(linksystem router) is set to stealth. I would have to open those two
ports I think... ;not willing to do that as I would be wide open. I am
using the ISP ports for RS and other non P2P downloads. This is why my
uploads with Pando are faster... they don't use the two P2P ports for that.
I've learned alot this morning.

Look Mike... it is appearing to me that discussing Pando vs other servers is
almost like a religion of sorts. I've tried to talk with other people who
are experiencing seemingly unexplainable slow speeds on Pando.. why some are
faster than others... that's ALL... I am not "complaining" about Pando..
just trying to solve a problem. By going to the Pando site and reading
posts there... my situation is not unusual and think I have pinned it down
to port firewalls. I think this is enough already.. no need to get
subjective about things.

Still delving into this at Pando forums. I think the best lead so far is my
linksys firewall. I always have it set to stealth for net browsing. I don
t know but am still looking into it.. so far ports 443 and 563 that Pando
uses are not detectable.. could be the problem.

Good grief its confusing! Based on what you said, I went hunting for info
about Pando.. it looks like it uses Java to me. Even in their ads for new
employees they have to have 5+ years experience with Java. They talk alot
about setting up their servers.. call them Drupal... and they talk about
Java. So punt.. very confusing.

I'm not questioning your word. I'm questioning the terms you are using.
JDownloader is very clear as to what your over all download speed is and if
your downloading 20 x200MB files at once then your files one at a time are
seeing maybe 80kb/S download speed if your very lucky. When the normal ISP
gives 3MB download speed

I will when commspeed is back up full... well, if I decide to get over you
questioning my word. But, this is not the problem.. I said earlier what I
ve come to. JDownloader.. used for host sites.. is using a totally
different port. Pando uses 443 and 563 P2P ports. My hardware firewall
(linksystem router) is set to stealth. I would have to open those two
ports I think... ;not willing to do that as I would be wide open. I am
using the ISP ports for RS and other non P2P downloads. This is why my
uploads with Pando are faster... they don't use the two P2P ports for that.
I've learned alot this morning.

tells me that JDownloader has full control of your download limits wile its
running. But pando goes back to normal when JDownloader is shut down. So
still looking to see what your having that problem. Would you mind running
this speed test and give me a screen shot when it finishes.

LOL... oh, boy, do I ever hear ya. I held out on premium for years! I
thought how stupid to buy what you can get for free... wowza.. was I ever
wrong. I paid about 40 bucks for six months and am never going back to
free. I figure I can't rent two movies at Hollywood video for 6 bucks a
month. LOL I set up paypal with a little bank account tied to debit visa...
works great... I don't keep anything in there since the inital setup... I
held out on paypal for years too but had to get it to buy RS premium. Live

Pando is working fine in Colorado and for the files that stop at 99% just go
to your down load dir and remove the .downloading from the file and in most
cases it should work fine ...

I did a Microsoft update this AM... (you would think I'd learn by now...) anyway, Pando would come up but no window was visable at all.

Uninstalled, cleaned registry, rebooted, re-installed -- still nothing~! I could see it in my tray, but there was literally no window...I even had to close it out using the Task Manager.

Anyway, I used the control panel add/remove and took the dern update OUT... Pando is working fine now.

Well if you click on the link I sent for the speed check you will see what
your paying for it has nothing to do with JDownloader.
As to how you come to terms as your download speed is very wrong. I dont
know a ISP that offers any were half of what your claming 1Gig download
speed is not buy able. The way your reading it is how much you are
downloading not your download speed.

( If I'm downloading 20 files.. Maybe 200 MB each, that's overall speed).
You cant tell . Because that's two different things.
20 files.. Maybe 200 MB each is the amount of how much you downloaded not
anything to do with how fast.

Umm... you doubt my speed? it is hard to get a SS on JDownloader as its
moving.. and I don't think video capture woutd work.... also, remember my
1gig is across files. If I'm downloading 20 files.. maybe 200 MB each, that
s overall speed.. that's how JDownloader report s it.. that doesn't mean
each file is downloading at that speed.. individual files might be 300MBs
each and varies second to second. Its not like Pando.. where it shows one
speed.. can catch a shot.. then goes to connecting and comes back with
another speed.. JDownloader is second by second. I can, however, send a
copy of my contract.. what speed I pay for... with private info blacked out.
Don't you think I would be screaming if I wasn't getting it? geez

Ya know.. blaming your connection or your crappy computer are just big smoke
screens. I download from rapidshare at 1GIG/sec while listening to music
and playing games. I have 2GIGs of RAM and a dual core processor and pay
for 1.5GIGs dl speeds from my ISP. Pando is even slower than downloading
free from most any host site.. rs, hotfile, file factory, etc. I happen to
have RS premium so their server doesn't restrict my speed like a free user..
that's true but its what lets me know what the performance of different
servers is.. its all determined by them.

I posted a link somewhere to the Pando forum where people were complaining
about this so we're not alone. I learned there that it really has nothing
to do with Pando traffic either which is what I was originally told when I
first started using it. What I can't figure is why some people get better
speeds. I wonder if its the area of the country or something.

I just bought 100 DVD-R brand TDK for 20.00 at Office Max....two weeks ago
they were on sale for 15.99... check the Sunday paper adds there is always
someone having them on sale for 15.00 or 20.00.
