Fried Black-Eyed Peas

1 lb. black-eyed peas
1 onion, quartered
3 cloves garlic, sliced
1 heaping teaspoon pickled jalapenos
Old Bay seasoning
oil for deep frying

Pick over the peas, removing any debris, rocks, and bad or broken peas.
Place in large pot, cover with cold water, twice as deep as the peas, cover,
and soak overnight.

The next morning, drain peas and add fresh water. Add onion, garlic, and
jalapenos. Cook on medium, covered (or partially covered), until peas are
just tender. Drain well and remove onion, garlic, and as many of the
jalapenos as you can find. Spread on a cookie sheet to cool.

Once cool, place cookie sheet in refrigerator (uncovered) for a couple of
hours or overnight. This step is not essential, but will assure that the
peas are dry before you fry them, which will help prevent the grease from
foaming and popping too much.

Heat oil to 375°. Slowly lower the peas into the hot grease, working in
batches. They will foam quite a bit, so don't be afraid to take them out of
the grease to let the foam subside, even several times, if necessary.

Once the foaming lessens, fry peas for 6-8 minutes, or until you can see
that they're starting to brown a bit. Drain grease and put peas into a bowl.
Sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning and salt, to taste. Let them cool a little
before eating so they'll be crunchy.

Makes about 6 cups.

mine does the same speeds ... i've had pro for about 3 months and only
because i can upload 3 gig files instead of 1 gig files for the group im 1/2
owner in ... it saves from people having to rejoin the movies after they get
them. before and after having the pro version my speeds have stayed the
same.

Michael the way you worded did sound like you was fed up with seeing the
same old complaint
yes it's boring seeing the same old complaints but like debbie said, a lot
of people are new or don't read a post
until they have a critical problem,so we have to be patient, you are full of

to sound a bit more sympathetic to the needy ones.
It does sound like marie has hit one of those pop up alerts that has false
alerts and is very damaging.

There is no "here we go again" for some of us, unfortunately Michael, We are
learning. And for 99% of the time all are extremely helpful. And I

Yes, I have received a couple and I saw that another person announced
the same from "new user". I now run everything through firefox first and
then scan in the "my pando files" file before opening by right clicking

I'm sorry its not my day I guess lol and yes one of them did seam to have
got that popup and for those reading that popup is infact a virus itself.
And if you try and click on or try and turn it off it will install. Best way
is to use your CTRL+ALT+DEL And turn off the web page.

yes it's boring seeing the same old complaints but like debbie said, a lot
of people are new or don't read a post

It does sound like marie has hit one of those pop up alerts that has false
alerts and is very damaging.

There is no "here we go again" for some of us, unfortunately Michael, We are
learning. And for 99% of the time all are extremely helpful. And I
understand it must get frustrating repeating...but it is also frustrating to
be learning and be talked down to. Perhaps a file on the groupsite with a
reference to such tips would be helpful to those of us who do pester with
these repetative issues. Again, sorry........ and thank you for the

Yes, I have received a couple and I saw that another person announced
the same from "new user". I now run everything through firefox first and
then scan in the "my pando files" file before opening by right clicking
and selecting scan this folder with..... found 2 yesterday.

You're confusing Japan with Denmark, these are actually long finned pilot
whales. The method of killing as described here is also incorrect, again
confusing Japanese methods with Danish. I'm not condoning, just clarifying:

Men gather on the shore to kill the beached whales. Ideally, most of the
whales will strand far enough up on shore that it is unnecessary to secure
them. However, those remaining in the shallows must be secured and hauled
closer. Traditionally, this is done by driving a steel hook, or gaff, with a
rope attached to it into the back of the whale. A new blunt hook inserted
into an airsac in the whale's blowhole has now been widely tested in
practice and it is hoped that this new equipment may eventually replace the
traditional gaff as the standard method for securing whales. The whale is
killed using a sharp knife to cut down to sever the spinal cord, which also
severs the major blood supply to the brain, ensuring both the loss of
consciousness and death within seconds.

You're confusing Japan with Denmark, these are actually long finned pilot whales. The method of killing as described here is also incorrect, again confusing Japanese methods with Danish. I'm not condoning, just clarifying:

Men gather on the shore to kill the beached whales. Ideally, most of the whales will strand far enough up on shore that it is unnecessary to secure them. However, those remaining in the shallows must be secured and hauled closer. Traditionally, this is done by driving a steel hook, or gaff, with a rope attached to it into the back of the whale. A new blunt hook inserted into an airsac in the whale's blowhole has now been widely tested in practice and it is hoped that this new equipment may eventually replace the traditional gaff as the standard method for securing whales. The whale is killed using a sharp knife to cut down to sever the spinal cord, which also severs the major blood supply to the brain, ensuring both the loss of consciousness and death within seconds.

I am looking for the first movie Twilight. I already have new moon. Also Vickie sent 2 of the audio books and sadly during the start of the download it stopped staying a file error. I was wondering if anyone had all 4 audio books they could share with me. If they cannot be sent through the group you can send to me privately.
