Very true I myself have never had to look for one driver in any of my win 7
installs. Its the best OS out since 3.11 and for you coming from vista you
will love it and its speed

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on about 15 computers or more. Not once
have I had to go look for
a driver. Once it is installed and it opens I already have Internet access.
Then do a Windows Update and the
rest of the drivers come down in the update. That's just another reason that
Windows 7 is just a great
operating system. I do agree with one thing I saw posted. Stick with the 32
bit version. It does not cause the problems that the 64 bit version does
with trying to run older programs, not to mention the problems that Pando
users have had using that version.

the copy i sent is ok to upgrade with or a fresh install. if you ever want
to reformat then that will erase everything on your hard drive. if you are
referring to the system recovery that boughten computers come with then you
still don't need to worry because once you start that process it doesn't
matter whats on the hard drive because it'll restore it to the original file
system that you got with your computer. with this os drivers isn't much of
an issue and there's always the www to get them from.

I actually had something strange happen a few weeks ago. I also work on
computers part time. Use to do it full time until I retired, but when people
know that's what you do they still call, so I pick up some extra cash this
way.
Anyway, I was working on a couple of computers with Xp. They were badly
infected with spyware and
viruses. I probably could have got them cleaned, but in my old age (62) my
patience isn't what it use to be. I talked both customers into letting me
just reformat the drives and told them I would save anything important and
put
them back on for them and would install some other things for them. Given
their approval I did so. Wiped the drives
and as they both wanted Xp again, I re-installed it. To my surprise when
Windows opened I had Internet
access and once the Windows updates were done all the drivers were in both
computers. I could not
believe it and it hasn't happened again. Guess someone knew I was tired. Ha!

I have also installed in in many computers and not had any problems for the
most part.. I will say there are a few older systems that you do not get the
drivers for everything and it can be a real pain to find them but most of
the time they are out there unless there is something that is too old to
have updated drivers for it.. I had one that had integrated sound and it
found that and said it was good to go but it turned out the integrated sound
did not work so a pci sound card was installed and it did not find that and
once I done the upgrade there was no drivers for the sound card so the card
had to be replaced.. but yes for the most part all the drivers are going to
be found and installed for you without any problems.. I am working on an
upgrade right now on another computer next to me and it is an older sony
vaio and there was not an upgrade for the sound drivers for it but I was
able to find one that did work but it took me a while to find one that would
work for it.. so ya it can also be a pain but not normally.. as for the 32
bit vs the 64 bit.. ya the 32 bit is a much better choice if you ask me.. I
have the 64 bit on this system but I have the 32 bit on all my other systems
& would tell anyone that is not a big time gamer to go with the 32 bit
version it is much easier to find programs for and almost anything that ran
on an xp os will run on a 32 bit version of windows7.. the only disadvantage
if the 64 bit I really see is you have to use the 32 bit browser to run
flash other than that there really is not much of a difference.. 32 bit is
the way to go though...

wow that is an odd one there..lol. I wish I would have them do that for
me..lol. I try to get everyone to go with windows 7 anymore since it is so
much better but if they insist I will give them xp..lol. but I have never
had that happen to me I wish it was that way all the time though it sure
would make it much easier like windows 7 is.. oh and just so you know I do
not have my own business yet but do plan on it as soon as I get the funds to
do so.. right now I just do it on the side for anyone that is wanting a
better deal than they can get at any of the computer shops around here.. I
also a lot of working on other systems and getting rid of all the hp crap
and dell crap off of there systems for those that want to stay with that
they have but don't want all the unneeded crap on there systems.. so I do a
little of everything from building custom gaming systems to taking one that
some one bought and modding it a little to suit them or there needs.. I also
take systems I pick up cheap and make them into something they where not
when I got them and sell them off to make a few bucks.. anymore it is what
ever I can do to make a few bucks and to help out others that don't want to
pay the price the shops around here charge.. I also do a lot of getting rid
of viruses and all that fun stuff.lol.

Re: Windows 7 FULL 32 & 64 bit versions - Activated

Yea, I also try to get everybody to go with Windows 7, but you have those
people (especially the
older one's like me, Ha!) that are not going to change. I have even sat them
down in front of a
computer with Windows 7 on it and showed then the benefits that it has. I
let them tinker
with it and about 30 minutes later they say they will stick with Xp.
Completely baffles me. I don't
build too many for people anymore. Mainly I will take them and clean them up
or re-install the system
of their choice. I do luck out at times that some of them buy new systems
and want me to install programs
on them and I usually end up with their older computer. Like you, I take it
and clean it up, update it some
and make some extra when I sell it. Now that's when it is a good deal. I
actually make money off the same
customer twice. I'm a happy camper when that happens.

wow that is an odd one there..lol. I wish I would have them do that for me.
lol. I try to get everyone to go with windows 7 anymore since it is so much
better but if they insist I will give them xp..lol. but I have never had
that happen to me I wish it was that way all the time though it sure would
make it much easier like windows 7 is.. oh and just so you know I do not
have my own business yet but do plan on it as soon as I get the funds to do
so.. right now I just do it on the side for anyone that is wanting a better
deal than they can get at any of the computer shops around here.. I also a
lot of working on other systems and getting rid of all the hp crap and dell
crap off of there systems for those that want to stay with that they have
but don't want all the unneeded crap on there systems.. so I do a little of
everything from building custom gaming systems to taking one that some one
bought and modding it a little to suit them or there needs.. I also take
systems I pick up cheap and make them into something they where not when I
got them and sell them off to make a few bucks.. anymore it is what ever I
can do to make a few bucks and to help out others that don't want to pay the
price the shops around here charge.. I also do a lot of getting rid of
viruses and all that fun stuff.lol.

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on about 15 computers or more. Not once

So you wont to believe lol. Google search tells a hole different story.

Does Microsoft Security Essentials create more problems than it
solves?Posted on 02 October 2009. Even though Microsoft hasn't a good track
record and reputation when it comes to the security aspect of their products
it is a testimony of its market strength that so many well known and
established anti-virus and anti-malware developers have gotten up on their
hind legs and began ridiculing the company's foray into the market of free
security products.

But the most important question here is: How does Microsoft Security
Essentials perform? Yes, it's free - but does it do what it's meant to?

Windows IT Pro reports that vendor independent testing (from AV-Test) proved
that the software is accurate in 98.4 percent of cases when dealing with
malware attacks, and in 90.7 percent of the cases when confronted with
spyware. The report also goes on to say that the product does a
better-than-good job when removing said malware.

On the other hand, PCMag's Neil Rubenking says the software offers
one-dimentional malware blocking". He claims that the real-time protection
seems to be working, but that the program fails to remove some of the
threats it found. Or, it reports that it got rid of the malware, only to be
disproved moments later when the program identifies again the very same
threat it supposedly removed.

Additionally, Rubenking says that Security Essentials managed to clean only
70 percent of (previously intentionally) downloaded malware, and detected
only 40 percent of keylogger samples. And he mentions to having been more
than a little annoyed by the constant requests for reboots after cleaning a
threat.

It's not surprising that the software got very mixed reviews - most software
does. Count in the longstanding aversion that some people have to all
Microsoft products, it's easy to see they may have been a little biased.
What is certain is that it will take more than a few days to completely
evaluate the worth of this new anti-malware solution.

In the meantime, the software has inadvertently become a catalyst for the
kind of infection it wants to keep people from. SCMagazine UK reports that
it didn't take a lot of time for cybercriminals to exploit the news of its
release. When you search for a download page for Security Essentials through
a search engine, you are also offered malicious links which take you a
compromised website and offer to download a rogue anti-virus.

After all of this, another thought just occurred to me: Wouldn't it be
ironic if Security Essentials proves to be incapable of detecting this rogue
software that's masquerading as the real thing?

Go back and check now. This was written on October 2, 2009. There has been a
lot of work done on it since then. All I can say is that I have tried them
all over the years. Norton, Symantec Corporate, McAfee, AVG, Trend, Avast
etc; and it has lived up to my expectations. As stated it is not a memory
hog like the others and even though AVG doesn't use a lot of memory, it
still uses more than MSE. Besides AVG pegs
so many things that are not actual problems that it drives me crazy. Ha! I
am all over the Internet all the time and so far (and I'm knocking on wood)
MSE has protected me better than any of the above. I have
not had one problem. If you have another computer that you can try it on,
give it a shot. I think you will
be surprised since they have improved it so much since the earlier days. I
realize that anyone can write an article, some good and some bad for the
same products, so I really judge by my experience. Here's a few you might
like to check out. All of these were done after October 2nd and much of the
work that has turned MSE into a great program was done long after that.
Thanks!

I also deal with some high end stuff but it depends on what the customer
wants I am not going to do anything they don't want or put anymore into it
than they want and pay for. if they want it over clocked they can do that on
there own. I am not going to do it for them but most all the systems I have
built are able to be over clocked but not all want them that way.. I still
like the amd processors much better than the Intel in most all cases they
run cooler and they also work faster if you put them side by side I think
but to each his or her own.. there are some that swear by intel and will not
go with anything else but myself I prefer the amd.. from the sounds of it
though we do about the same thing. I will have to say I have not done a
whole lot with the wireless stuff myself but I do hope to get into it a bit
more.. I will say though that is a very nice looking system in that pic..

Ok I have redownloaded ConvertXdvd, because I cannot find anything else to use.  It converts everything just fine.  Then it looks as though it is burning fine, but when I check the disk on the DVD player, it says bad disk, on every single one of them. These are DVD-RW, and that's what I've used in the past.   I don't get it, can anyone tell me what the heck I'm doing differently?  Before the reformat, I was burning them just fine..

Thanks for any help!!

Jodi

I know this info but thanks anyways.. I build and sell custom gaming systems
so the systems I have are ones I built myself so there is no service

3 in your system.. I have replaced the ones in this tower more times that I

Ok I have redownloaded ConvertXdvd, because I cannot find anything else to
use. It converts everything just fine. Then it looks as though it is
burning fine, but when I check the disk on the DVD player, it says bad disk,
on every single one of them. These are DVD-RW, and that's what I've used in
the past. I don't get it, can anyone tell me what the heck I'm doing
differently? Before the reformat, I was burning them just fine..

Thanks for any help!!

I bet that system cost ya just a bit of cash..lol. I have to say it is a
very nice looking one and if it is anything like I am guessing I am sure it
is a bad ass system & cost just a bit to build.. I know the gaming systems
are not always cheap to build if you put all the bells and whistles into
them they are not at all cheap...

I also deal with some high end stuff but it depends on what the customer
wants I am not going to do anything they don't want or put anymore into it
than they want and pay for. if they want it over clocked they can do that on
there own. I am not going to do it for them but most all the systems I have
