Hi, everybody!

Cindy here, a newbie. I just joined, and am having a little trouble understanding exactly what's going on here. Could somebody give me a quick tutorial?

1. You're sharing TV shows and movies – video files of some kind, right?

2. When I rip a DVD from my collection, I end up with a file with an extension of .mov or .m4v. What are these 'Pando' files you all are talking about? How do you create them?

3. If I have a program/movie that somebody is looking for, do I email it directly to that person, or post it in some central location?

4. Do I just post a message saying "Hey, I'm looking for x-y-z, or do I go to a 'library' of some sort and look for it?

5. Finally, what does "ISO" and "PA" mean – a lot of messages have this in the subject line.

2.       When I rip a DVD from my collection, I end up with a file with an extension of .mov or .m4v. What are these 'Pando' files you all are talking about? How do you create them? I am not sure about your file extensions because I ripped a movie a few nights ago and it had the proper .avi extension when I was done. Pando is the site used to download and upload the movies/tv shows that are shared. Go to pando.com and install it for free. You create these pando files by uploading and downloading through pando.
3.       If I have a program/movie that somebody is looking for, do I email it directly to that person, or post it in some central location? The only programs that are allowed to be sent into this group are programs used for burning/ripping movies...other than that you would have to email ppl privately to share other programs with them, if they asked for it. And movies that you want to share, you send here to the group after you have uploaded it to pando to share.
4.       Do I just post a message saying "Hey, I'm looking for x-y-z, or do I go to a 'library' of some sort and look for it? If you are trying to find a movie, tv show, etc...you post ISO (means In Search Of) in the subject line along with the name of the item you are looking for...then usually in the body you say plz and thank you for it and it also very helpful when you are looking for a movie, go to imdb.com or rottentomatoes.com and get the url for that movie and post it in the body so ppl don't have to guess what you're looking for or which version (usually there are several versions of movies)
5.       Finally, what does "ISO" and "PA" mean – a lot of messages have this in the subject line. ISO I explained in above question and PA means Pando..i put PA in mine just so ppl know that it was pando'ed cuz I send my shares to diff. groups and some groups allow sharing through Rapidshare links and other hosting sites, so it lets ppl know that it is a pando share. If you see PA MO posted then that means Pando Movie.

LOL unfortunately no...uploads are much slower than downloads but if I were you, I'd try upping something to see what speed you get. And yes you can upload and download at the same time. I have never noticed my uploads going any slower than usual when I am downloading..no matter how many things I have downloading. I get 89kb/sec on my uploads and download speeds always vary...I don't know if it goes by how fast the person upping's speed is if it it's not fully uploaded...sometimes I get download speeds of 125kb/sec and at times I get download speeds of over 300kb/sec and sometimes like you as low as 8 kb/sec...prob depends too on how busy pando is. Hope that helps

It does Candy.. I've never gotten the faster speeds out of it that you have
downloading but I hope I get better uploading. Its good to know I don't

LOL sorry Temperance..I didn't put a description with this one cuz I just took for granted that ppl would know and yes it is Wrestling...I love The Rock and Stone Cold and had dl'ed it for myself from rs links someone had shared so I pando'ed it to share with everyone else. OK...I'm losing what little sanity I was hangin on to here...

I installed Roxio Creator Pro 2010, and as I saw it installing, I noticed it removed my Cineplayer which was for playing my DVDs.

So I assumed Roxio was going to install a player with the program...WRONG! Not only was there no player, but when I installed Cineplayer again - it doesn't work! The splash comes up and that's it. VCL doesn't work either.

Has anyone installed Roxio and had it get along with a DVD player program? And if so, which one please????

I was going to go to the store to find a player program, and my automatic garage door opener broke - and the release isn't doing any good cuz the top pully thingy is separated from the chain drive - so it's just stuck part way up!!!! UGGGHHH what a crap day!!!!

Oh ya, and it's raining for the sixth day in a row too... LOL
